Yesterday we announced the release of Trilio for OpenStack Version 5, which bring backup and disaster recovery to Red Hat OpenStack Platform 17.1 and Kolla-Ansible Antelope (2023.1) on Rocky Linux and Ubuntu Jammy.
Trilio for OpenStack 5 is our truly native OpenStack Backup-as-a-Service offering that provides integration with the OpenStack Dashboard (Horizon) and native OpenStack Command Line client. Along with the some of the latest distros supported, let’s look at some of the capabilities of Trilio for OpenStack V5.
Improved architecture leads to simplified management
Trilio for OpenStack 5 is deployed as part of your chosen distribution. It is not managed separately. Trilio is added to your Charmed Bundle, RHOSP Director YAML, or Ansible YAML, and installed and managed like any other OpenStack service. This means you don’t have to scale your backup service independently of your OpenStack cloud. We are part of your cloud just like Nova or Neutron and users will simply backup and recover their VMs, Networks and Storage just like they’re launching or creating VMs and Storage through the OpenStack Dashboard, command line or orchestration tool.

In addition to for the top 5 distributions of OpenStack, including RHOSP, OpenStack-Ansible, Kolla-Ansible, Canonical Charms and Mirantis MOSK , we now support all OpenStack distros! Integrated Functionality to Enable Migration from VMware to OpenStack!
That’s right – you can now migrate your entire VMware Virtual Machines to OpenStack using Trilio.
